Things to tell I101

Let's look at the iPod.

Who here has an iPod?

Did you listen to it today?

In what context?

-> This is something we could go much deeper into: How do people use a certain piece of technology?

This is kind of personal, but what is there anything you listened to that you really enjoyed, that you were really glad to have in your ears?

Where did you get that song?

-> This is another thing we could go much deeper into: How does music acquisition happen across an entire population?

Are there any of these that you don't do?

Why not?

Can anyone thing of a way technology might allow her to do this?

-> This is another thing we could go much deeper into: How can we use technology to meet a need?

What might this look like?

-> This is another thing we could go much deeper into: How to most effectively design technology to meet a need.

So now, we want to take this and figure out if it works. Can she use this technology? Does it solve the problem we were trying to solve? What other effects does it have on her life? Does she become a music junkie and stop caring about her career as an accountant?

So, we could design a paper prototype.

-> This is another thing we could go into much deeper: How to test your designs.
