Snowedin.net Design Goals
For the next revision of snowedin.net, I have the following design goals:
- Have a banner which I can change every few months as my whims blow about.
- White on black text, for readability.
- Allow rabbit-hole type browsing.
- Make it easy to abandon paths. This means going "up" a level, as well as to recently viewed pages in other parts of the site.
- Rich linking. It would be great if the Ideas section, the Photo gallery and the journal were more richly interconnected. This might mean:
- Allowing [Wiki Links] in journal entries and Photos.
- Having [blog:12/12/04 4:18pm] style wiki links.
- Automatic linking to wiki pages.
- Automatically create new blog entries of a special type whenever I create a new gallery. Then have the most recent gallery's photos show up in MT, so I could add things like [This is a photo for my mom|photo:formom.jpg] to journal entries (and Wiki pages and have them be all connected up.
