Notes on Simulating Evolution’s First Steps

Symbiosis:

  1. Organism1, which can convert A to B has an advantage
  2. In this new environment, Organism2 which can take advantage of Organism1's B has an advantage.
  3. In this new environment, Organism1.1 which doesn't share B has an advantage.
  4. In this new environment, Organism2.1 which gives something back to A will give Organism1 an advantage.
  5. By giving Organism1 a selective advantage, it is helping maintain its own food source, giving itself an advantage.
