I am going to the desert for a few days with some friends. I’m taking my cell phone but it will be off. I’ll be back Saturday late and I’ll return y’alls calls then.
Not that y’all really call me that often… but one time I went to Mexico for a week without telling my family and they couldn’t get a hold of me and they got scared. Sorry about that.
Addiction is hard. To realize that you’re hurting yourself. To realize that you’ve been lying to yourself; that your addiction is not, in fact, just something to ease your soul along the way to dealing with that dark thing lurking. To realize you never do deal with that dark thing, that the addictive behavior soaks up the nights, making it so you never have to turn your eyes inward.
And if you’re lucky enough to realize those things, and lucky enough to have people around you encouraging you to take those steps, staring into the belly of the beast–your belly–is terrifying.

Hey all -
I was complaining to my friend Erik today that reddit [EP: For those who don't know reddit, it's a site where people share interesting links] didn’t seem to like clothed, vocal women or non-digital art. We can read blogs for feminisms-friendly stuff, but I’d love a place to get the random, interesting best-of.
I called this feminisms because I wasn’t sure how else to title it succinctly, but this subreddit [EP: A subarea of the link-sharing site for a specific topic] is for anything that you might vaguely construe as interesting. Race, gender, class, sexuality, rejection of all those categories, and other are all welcome. You can then vote up the stuff you like and the more votes something gets, the more prominently it gets displayed.
