My Weekend
The following was cut and pasted from an email I just sent. Apologies to the recipient, but I wanted to let everyone else know how my trip went as well…
The wedding was beautiful! It was fantastic to see my immediate family and see a bit of London with them (Westminster Abbey and the outside of the Tower of London was all we had time for).
Everything was in Hampstead, which is where my Aunt and Uncle live, and we went to a couple of great restaurants there… one greek and one chinese… had some delicious suckling pig. There was great wine and lots of it at the rehearsal dinner and the wedding, which made for no small amount of hilarity.
The best part of the trip was certainly seeing all of my cousins. It’s rare I get to spend time with them, and we’re all quite close in age so it’s always a fun time. And of course, the wedding was beautiful, although seeing such happy couples tends to put one’s own love life in sharp relief.
On the whole, an excellent trip. Well worth the cost and anxiety.
I’m glad you posted this as I haven’t had a split second to IM you and ask about the trip. Hopefully I’ll catch up with you soon.
