Well, my UIUC application is

Well, my UIUC application is more or less complete. I feel pretty good about my personal statement, but I will give it a final review tomorrow morning. I am still very nervous about:

  • whether I will be able to pick up all my recommendation letters tomorrow
  • whether my GRE scores will get there in time
  • whether I’m good enough.

*sigh*. At some point you just have to let go.

Up early enough, spent pretty

Up early enough, spent pretty much all day working on my personal statements. UIUC statement is coming along nicely… I think it’s good enough to send to Niamh. w00t.

Woke up some time after

Woke up some time after ten this morning, reinforcing what I already knew: that I am bad, very bad at waking myself up. Spent the morning intending on working on my personal statement and doing casual reading instead. Spent the afternoon hauling leaves. As a result, the lawn looks great. An hour and a half post dinner, I still haven’t gotten going on my personal statement.

I have put a wiki on this site, for ideas and other bits of information. It’s a good place to keep all the stuff I have to keep track for applying to graduate school. Right now I am reading some papers by Kathryn Bock to help tie my personal statement for Illnois to tie in to the faculty a bit better.

So, I took the GRE

So, I took the GRE a second time this morning, and got a perfect score on the quantitative. That’s fun. Of course, I actually did worse on the verbal than the first time, which is a little depressing. But the verbal is really just a big vocabulary test. Any graduate school that rejects me on that basis isn’t a graduate school I’d want to attend anyway.

Working on the final list of programs to apply to…
