On Thursday, I went to see Arun Ghandi. He lectured on his extremely broad definition of violence (and nonviolence.) His way of life is compelling. I should read some of his grandfathers writing.

After the lecture, I walked Niamh home from her class showing of The Bride of Frankenstein. She assures me it really does have something to do with Milton.

Niamh’s older sister Miriam

Niamh’s older sister Miriam came out for the evening on Friday also. We saw the Royal Tennenbaums (still great the second time) and went out for drinks at the Bidwell. It was busy, so we couldn’t get a seat in the bar, but the music was so loud that it was perfect in the restaurant. We had some good conversation and some good wings. Sampled the house brew (Old Abernathy?) It wasn’t bad.

Yesterday, I went home

Yesterday, I went home to do some laundry, pick up my winter coat. Good thing too, the first snow came last night.
